Add to FacebookThe New York District of the US Army Corps of Engineers is currently conducting three Section 205 Studies for Ice Jam Flooding Reduction in central New York State. DuBois & King, Inc. and the US Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) are conducting the flooding analysis for open water and ice jamming conditions. The three small watersheds all flow into the Mohawk River between Utica and Herkimer, NY. Each of the watersheds has its own unique design issues. This paper concerns some of the difficulties that required innovative analysis for Moyer Creek which flows through the Village of Frankfort, NY.
