Damage Assessment with Ambient Vibration Data Using a Novel Time Series Analysis Methodology
J. Struct. Eng.
Issue Date: December 2010
In this study, a novel approach using a modified time series analysis methodology is used to detect and locate structural changes by using ambient vibration data. In addition, it is shown that the level of the damage feature gives important information about the relative change of the damage severity although direct damage quantification is not achieved. Call for Papers: Sustainable Building Structures
Special guest editors Yahya C. Kurama, Ph.D., P.E., and Arzhang Alimoradi, Ph.D., P.E., invite you to submit papers on topics related to sustainable building structures for a special issue of Journal of Structural Engineering. Civil infrastructure is an indispensable part of any modern society and has facilitated industrial growth in the last century. However, the construction of our infrastructure has also taken a great toll on the environment through pollution and the depletion of natural resources. Awareness and efforts to reduce the environmental impacts of our built infrastructure have become more prominent in recent years and significant progress has been made on developing more sustainable structures through better resource utilization. To this end, the main objectives of this special issue are to highlight and document some of these recent advances, to allow for comparative studies of such advances, and to document future research needs.
