  • Prepared by the Committee on Cable-Stayed Bridges of ASCE

Guidelines for the Design of Cable-Stayed Bridges discusses loadings and materials used in the design of cable-stayed bridges. These guidelines are intended to be used as performance specifications to be used with any national code.

Topics include: safety factors, loads, and impact; cables and anchorages; stability; dynamic wind loads; special considerations for railroads; and seismic design.

These guidelines were developed from current practice and reflect the latest thinking for this type of bridge.
